#TRAVELINGTINK ROAD TRIPS - MYSTIC, CONNECTICUT
Connecticut is just a short trip for a New Yorker like me, so my next TravelingTink road trip brought us to Mystic, CT. The trip took us a little under 3 hours by car and the route is basically a straight, easy drive up the 95!
Mystic is a quaint little town on the water, with a historic seaport, maritime museum, plenty of shops, and of course MYSTIC PIZZA!
Our first stop was the historic Mystic seaport museum. The entire museum is outdoors with the exception of the gift shop/bakery/cafe and masks are required while on the grounds at all times. I have a great time admiring the historic ships, anchors, and getting a gorgeous view of the water.
Our next stop was the Olde Mystik Village where we walked through the small town, browsed the shops, walked over the Mystic Bridge, admired the sail boats, and checked out the famous Mystic Pizza!
Since we are still in a pandemic, my human was hesitant to go to the Mystic Aquarium (as most of it is indoors) but they are open requiring a reservation/ticket purchase in advance, face masks and social distancing.
Overall, I have to say that Mystic, CT is a lovely road trip destination if you want some nautical vibes, history and of course an escape from NYC!
